ONE TWO. ONE TWO...
We test equipment all year and in a range of conditions and the last couple of months have certainly dished up a full assortment of winds. Sadly lacking in consistent sea breezes in July, thankfully May and early June were gang busters for a while and we've really had chance to get to know the top and bottom ends of the Duotone Evo and Eleveight RS V5 ten metre machines, which we tested along with CrazyFly's unfathomably light weight Elite III carbon twin-tip. Foiling weather continues to prevail; so get the skinny on the Cabrinha Special Agent and XR950 as well as the CrazyFly F-Lite 130 and 1200 Cruz wing. Don't forget to dive into our 100% Test Issue for more reviews as well as fresh ones posting up there in the coming weeks, too. Our testers don’t set out to find the best products for pro riders, but instead focus on what’s important for every day riders. Senior tester Chris Bull is 50, has been kiting for 22 years and tested more gear than anyone we know, outside of gear developers themselves. He runs CBK-Hayling Island, a lively school, club and shop and understands what riders really need from their purchases. Jim Gaunt is 42, editor of Kiteworld, has been kiting for 18 years and rarely rides the same gear for more than a couple of sessions, so has a detailed understanding of current directions / trends. Rob Claisse joins us for foil testing – founder of Progression Sports, he makes kitesurfing instructional videos, runs training camps and has helped the BKSA develop their hydrofoil training syllabus. Kyle Cabano is 27 year-old, lives in Cape Town and has been kiteboarding obsessively since 2014. Having spent three years as a team rider for Airush, he joined Kiteworld as assistant editor and test team rider in February 2021. He weighs 70 kilos and most often rides a twin-tip with boots or a surfboard strapless.
