This season the IKA have racked up a serious schedule of five events in the Kitefoil World Series, no doubt an indication of the building buzz around racing. A thrilling format in which competitors can ride whatever equipment they like, this series produces tight and super fast performances and highly competitive action, on and off the water.

Exploding off the start line in Austria

Heading into the mid-season event at Cagliari, Sardinia from 6 - 10th October, three-time Formula European Champion and 2019 Kitefoil World Series winner, Axel Mazella from France has edged in front of Russian Denis Taradin and France’s Theo de Ramecourt in the standings with his win at the most recent event in Traunsee, Austria.

Lauriane Nolot

The ladies field is highly competitive too, with two French women battling it out at the top. Lauriane Nolot’s win in Austria has brought her up to second overall behind Poema Newland, with Youth Olympic twin-tip race gold medalist Sofia Tomasoni in third.

Sardinia has previously staged the final for the Kitefoil World Series. This year it will once again herald a crucial tussle, but this time at the mid-way stage, before riders then look towards the series climax in the Canaries; hitting Fuerteventura for round four and then Gran Canaria for the final at the end of November.
